I have worked in my classroom the past two weeks getting
ready for my 16 second grade students who will enter my class and the funtastic
world of WBT tomorrow morning. Here are
some pictures of the classroom rules, the scoreboard, power pix board, Super Improver
Team, The Genius Ladder, and The Brainies wall.
This is a picture of
my Power Pix board. The board with the red border will be used for displaying
math power pix. The board with blue border will be used for displaying Language
Arts power pix.
This is a picture of my Super Improver Team.
The circles on the left side of the SIT will have a student’s name written on
it. As the students earn 10 stars, they will move to the next level and the
color of their circle will change. Each
student will have a Super Improver booklet at their desk. In the booklet, I
have a page for each level. Students can look back in their Super Improver
booklet during the school year and have a visual of the super improvement they
have made this year.
My beginning Brainies are
posted on a bulletin board in the front of the class so all of my students can
easily see them.
Here is my scoreboard (sorry about the glare, I think it is
because of the items being laminated). The gold trophy located in the middle of
the score board has Level 1 written on it. As I change out the different
versions of the score board such as boys vs girls I will change the level on
the trophy. Below the score board is the Wacky Star Fun button (I can't wait to
use this tomorrow)!
The next 3 pictures are showing my class rules. They are
located on the wall in the front of the class just above the super improver
team, score board, and Genius Ladder.
Here is a picture of the Genius
Ladder. I decided to write an example of each type of sentence using the bus
for a visual.
Starting at the bottom of the
ladder:
